Gynaecomastia

← FAQ

I would like to ask you if your clinic carries out the treatment of gynaecomastia and whereof this surgery consists of?

The prerequisite for this surgery is breast ultrasound, where the mammary gland content is established. The last examination before the surgery is a classical pre-operative examination at a practitioner. Then follows the surgery itself, carried out by a plastic surgeon. There are described numerous periareolar methods using inverted-T incision. Ideal is a small incision, when the result is a short imperceptible scar. This enables tumescent liposuction, by means of which it is possible to reduce lipid component, combined with subcutaneous mastectomy through the incision around the areola. The incision is led around the nipples, so the scar is almost invisible. The surgery is carried out under general anaesthesia. Post-operatively is required to apply a suction drain for 48 hours and a chest bandage for 3 to 4 weeks, which eliminates oedemas and helps to the retraction of skin surplus. Small oedemas disappear soon. Chest bandage (elastic jacket) is removed for showering only. After one-two months you will be able to practise sports and physical activities. The surgery method is decided within the consultation examination, during which you will be informed about all problems.
